The 2016 Audi TT will soon hit our streets. The vehicle whose concept was unveiled during last year’s Geneva Motor Show has adopted the VW MQB Platform. The new vehicle will keep its recognizable design; however, it will feature minor touches here and there.
2016 Audi TT Exterior
The new Audi will be about 110 pounds lighter due to the use of aluminum in its roof, fenders, hood, doors and trunk lid. The front features a redesigned single-frame grille which is flatter and broader compared to the predecessor’s. Sharp contours run in a V shape across the hood which features 4 Audi rings. Air intakes have been redesigned and they convey part of airflow to the flanks. The front also features flat headlights which complement its look. Xenon plus headlights come as standard though there is a choice for LED headlights.
The vehicle will be 13.71 ft long, 6.01 ft wide and 4.44 ft tall and with 8.22 ft wheel base. At the rear, there are LED taillights with dynamic turn signals; there is a strip in the taillights which features daytime running lights contour.
There is also a third braking light placed under the edge of the rear spoiler. The vehicle will have two huge and rounded exhaust pipes. The handling of the new model will be more dynamic due to its 18-inch wheels and a lower ground clearance.
2016 Audi TT Interior
Enthusiasts of the Audi TT will love the fact that the Audi’s Multi-Media Interface (MMI) and its virtual cockpit come as standard on all models. The MMI involves a 12.3 –inch screen which displays trip information and audio functions.
All seats are covered in premium leather with 8-way power front seats. The front features sports seats that are power adjustable with lumbar support and also height adjustable. Rear seats have a split-folding capability. The instruments cluster features a trip computer, tachometer, compass, clock and an external temperature display. The vehicle comes with a tilt and telescopic steering wheel that is integrated with transmission and audio controls.

Engine, Specs and Performance
Under the hood of both the Coupe and the Roadster there will be a 2.0L 4-inline petrol engine that produces 220 hp at 4500 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque at 1600 rpm. The engine accelerates from 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds for the coupe and 5.6 seconds for the roadster. The 2016 Audi TT will have a top speed of 155 mph.
Both vehicles will be hooked with Audi drive select and Quattro permanent AWD as standard. This will improve its dynamics, grip and traction. The vehicle will have estimated EPA ratings of 23 mpg and 30 mpg for city and highway drives respectively.
Price and release date
