After a pre-launch build up that seemed endless, Bentley finally unveiled the 2017 Bentley Bentayga during the Frankfurt Auto Show. This is Bentley’s first ever SUV and though new, the vehicle is set to be one of the most competitive vehicles in this segment. It is set to become the most powerful, stylish and most fastest SUV in the market.

Bentley Bentayga 2017 Exterior Specs
One can easily recognize its “Bentley look” from far as it features an array of Bentley’s signature design cues. The body is made of light aluminum and weighs 236 kg. The front fascia features a matrix grille flanked by LED headlights with a chrome touch. There are also extending headlamp washers. The front bumper features a light skid plate which showcases its ability to handle different terrains.
The rear features segmented taillights that feature B-shaped illumination graphic that provide it with a distinct signature at night. It also features a hands-free electrically operable tail gate. The new 2017 Bentley Bentayga also comes with a panoramic sunroof whose greater portion is made of glass which can be obscured by a full-length roller blind. The vehicle will ride on 20”, 21” or 22’ alloy wheels depending on one’s preferences.

Sliding into the interior of the new Bentley Bentayga, you will be met with an exceptionally stylish interior. To begin with, the interior features premium hand-crafted wood and high-quality leather. Buyers will have an option to choose between a 5- passenger interior and a 4-passenger one.
Other standard equipment includes 22-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front bucket seats that even have massage functions. It also comes with an 8.0- inch touch-screen that displays navigation information. Modern gadgets include a 60 GB hard drive, Bluetooth connectivity through 10.4 –inch Android devices and the automaker’s Tablet which enables rear seat passengers to access 4G Wi-Fi. It also includes an 18-speaker, 1,950 watt Naim sound system.
Other features include head-up display, a 360-degree top view camera, park assist and electronic night vision among other cool features. Buyers seeking extra personalization will benefit from its 6-lifestyle-oriented equipment packages along with other custom options.
For safety, the vehicle comes with a range of airbags and an array of driving aids which include park assist, electronic night vision, traffic sign recognition, traction control among others.

Engine Specs and Performance
The new SUV will only have a single engine option but there are reports of additional engines in future models including a hybrid one. The unit will be a 6.0 L twin- turbocharged W12 TSI with an output of 600 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission system.
Power will be channeled to all wheels via a redesigned AWD system. This power train moves the new Bentley Bentayga from 0-60 mph in only 4.0 seconds with a top speed of 187 mph which is the top speed in this segment. This W-12 power-train has an 11.9 % improved operating efficiency compared to the last W-12 unit.
The 2017 Bentley Bentayga has EPA fuel economy ratings of 14 mpg and 20 mpg for city and highway drives. The engine is fortified with direct and port injection as well as a variable displacement system. Bentley also plans to offer a diesel and plug-in version of the luxury SUV.
Price and release date
Though no official release date has not been released by the automaker, information from credible sources indicate that the vehicle will be released to dealerships in mid 2016 and will have a starting price of $ 229,100.
