The 2017 Dodge Charger Daytona has a colorful history riddled with numerous records. The first model was manufactured in 1969 purposely to race for NASCAR. Its excellent aerodynamics and awesome power helped the model set various records. Now, Dodge has crafted a new Dodge Charger which draws inspiration from the record-breaking ancestor. The 4-door sedan is only sold in the North America market.
The automaker has added more power to the muscle sedan. To enable you to rush to your office, pick up your kids from school or rush to and from the grocery store. Dodge last released the Daytona in 2013. Although the new Charger Daytona is not as impressive as its record-breaking ancestor was, it is a special sedan with some special performance credentials. Few sedans can boast such huge amounts of power while still offering plenty of space for five adult passengers and enough cargo space for the entire family. 2017 Dodge Charger Daytona Exterior
From some angles, the Dodge Charger Daytona looks like the SRT and from others like the R/T Scat Pack. Despite borrowing numerous exterior styling cues from the two models, the 2017 Charger Daytona still features its own unique cues that set it apart from the R/T and SRT. Specifically, the performance-oriented sedan features a “HEMI” on its center-mounted hood-scoop bulge.
At the rear, the model features “Daytona” graphics on the quarter-panels and a Satin Black spoiler. It is offered in a number of retro designs such as Yellow Jacket and Green Go. The model rides on a set of 20×9-inch Mopar forged-aluminum wheels. The wheels are wrapped in Hyper Black II Goodyear all-season tires (P245/45ZR20).

The automaker has taken a time to craft the model’s cabin to give justice to its awesome power output. Customers will particularly love the new Nappa leather seats which feature Alcantara suede plow through. The seats also feature a Brazen Gold contrast stitching. What’s more, the front seats are heated and ventilated and are 12-way power adjustable. The automaker further features Brazen Gold accent stitching on the door panels, center console armrests as well as on the door panel armrests.
Up front, the Daytona is well equipped with features such as a sports steering wheel, aluminum bezels, velour-bound floor mats with “Dodge” logos, a customized “Daytona” panel badge and sports pedals. For more premium look on your Daytona cabin, you can opt for LED interior lighting. Other optional features include security alarm, a driver’s seat and steering column with a memory function as well as bi-functional HID projector headlights. The 392 adds a 220-amp alternator, a 180 mph speedometer and “392” fender decals.
Engine Specs and performance
The Charger Daytona is offered in two flavors i.e. the Daytona and the Daytona 392. The base model is powered by a 5.7 L, HEMI V-8 engine which produces 370 hp. On the other hand, the Daytona 392 derives its power from a 6.4 L, HEMI V-8 which pumps out 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission system. The engines will feature the Mopar conical air filter as well as a high-performance, 2.75-inch exhaust system which helps the model to improve its performance.
Other performance improvements include an upgraded transmission and engine calibration that features a high-speed engine controller. Although the specific performance figures are not yet out, the automaker claims that the model will be quicker than the outgoing one. According to rumors, the model will hit 60 mph from standstill in 4.8 seconds which is pretty fast for a sedan. Its top speed will increase significantly from 135 mph in the outgoing models to 150 mph.
