The 2016 Mazda 3 will be offered in 5 trim levels which will include; the i-Sport, i-Touring, i-Grand Touring, s-Touring and s- Grand Touring. The new Mazda 3 will be more athletic with excellent dynamics and suspension.
The model will still keep its long hood and “cab-back” design that differentiates it from other compact cars. The new vehicle will also have sweeping shoulders and a more sloping roofline on the hatchback. The vehicle will also feature a redesigned grille, new LED headlights and taillights as well as new fog lights.

The inside of the new Mazda 3 2016 will be comfortable though not that roomy. To start with, the vehicle will accommodate five passengers. The front seats will be comfortable and adjustable. Except for the base version of the sedan, all other models will feature a 7-inch touch screen display. The screen will be controlled through buttons placed between the front seats. The rear backseat can be folded in 60/40 ratio to provide more cargo space. For the hatchback, cargo space will be 47 cubic feet.
All models will have a standard back up camera while other interior features will include air conditioning, pollen filter and dual power folding mirrors. The iSport trim level which will be the new base trim after the automaker removed the iSV trim will feature Mazda’s Connect infotainment system, the Preferred Equipment Package with heated door mirrors, premium cloth-trimmed sport seats, a rear seat armrest with cup holders, blind spot monitoring system, rear cross traffic alert and auto on/off headlights. The Touring trim will also have the Popular Equipment Package which will include a dual-zone climate control, a Bose 9-speaker surround sound system and auto-dimming interior mirror.
Engine, Specs and Performance
When it comes to the drive train, the new Mazda 3 will be offered in three engine variants. The first engine will be a 1.5L that produces 118 hp. The second engine will be a 2.0 L SkyActiv engine with a capability of producing 155 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. The third engine which will be the most powerful among them will feature a 2.5 L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder unit with a capability of producing 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque.
Rumors are rife that each of the engines could be mated with either a six-speed automatic transmission system or a six-speed manual transmission system. The turbocharged engine could be updated to offer more power according to insider information. The engine is expected to offer a 0-60 mph in around 6 seconds and a top speed of 150 mph and will be offered in AWD.

Price and release date
The 2016 Mazda 3 Hatchback models will be more expensive than their sedan counterparts. The base Sedan trim will go for around $ 18,000 while the hatchback will attract a price tag of around $19,000. Price of the top trims of both versions will range between $25,000 and $26,000 depending on the extra features one chooses. The Mazda could hit the market as early as the second half of 2015.
The new vehicle will face stiff competition from Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic and the Ford Focus.
