2016 Nissan Altima Exterior

The 2016 Nissan Altima will be offered in 7 trim levels, the SR models are new for 2016. The different models will be; Altima 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SR, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL, 3.5 SR and 3.5 SL. The 4-door sedan measures 191.9 inches long, 72.0 inches wide and 57.8 inches tall. It will have a wheelbase of 109.3 inches.

The Altima borrow most of its looks form the Maxima and Murano. Most of the new changes on its exterior can be seen on the front fascia. Nissan has hooked up the front with a corporate face which features a V-shaped grille flanked with “boomerang” LED headlights. These headlights feature as standard halogen high beam as well as projector low beam lights. The Altima 3.5 SR and 3.5 SL trims feature LED projector low beam lights and LED DRLs as standard and as an option on the 2.5 SR and 2.5 SL.

The new Altima SR features smoked headlights bezels. The front bumper has been redesigned and is seats lower than that of the outgoing model. The SR, SV and SL trim levels have been equipped with fog lights. The features V-shaped “boomerang” taillights. The rear also features a sculpted bumper with a dark accent, and like the front bumper, it also seats low. There is also a redesigned trunk lid (comes with an integrated spoiler on the Altima SR trim). The Altima will ride on either 17-inch or 18-inch machine-finish alloy wheels.

Overall the vehicle is more aerodynamic and has a lower coefficient of drag which has been reduced from 0.29 Cd to 0.26 Cd. The reduction can be attributed to addition of an under-floor aero cover, active grille shutters and redesigned front and rear fascias.
