2017 Nissan Titan Single cab

Nissan has followed up the release of the Titan and Titan XD Crew Cab trucks with Titan and Titan XD Single Cab models.  Already the Titan XD is available in dealerships. The 2017 Nissan Titan Single Cab truck on the other hand will arrive in the fall of this year as a 2017 model vehicle. Both the Titan and Titan XD Single Cab trucks are offered in regular cab and long bed body styles.

Nissan is aiming the trucks to fleet owners and commercial businesses where these kinds of trucks offer high functionality with less investment as they cost less than their heavy duty and Crew Cab counterparts. The trucks are offered in S and SV trim levels. The models are based on the larger Titan pickup truck. Read along to find out more:

2017 Nissan Titan Single cab Exterior

The Single Cab trucks have adopted their exterior styling cues from the larger Titan trucks. At the front, the trucks feature a similar gigantic grille with the bold “TITAN’ lettering. Its front fenders are bulging, a fete repeated on the rear fenders.

The base S trim features a black painted grille and rides on 17-inch steel wheels. The wheels are wrapped in LT-rated tires. The truck also features black mirror caps and black door handles. The SV trim on the other hand features an extensive use of chrome trim on the bumpers, grille and on door handles. The SV trim rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. There is an option for a 2-tone paint scheme.

The Titan and Titan XD Single Cab trucks feature full-size cargo beds i.e. 8-ft long cargo beds. Absence of the Pro-4X and Platinum trims means the Titan Single Cabs miss a host of premium exterior cues.

2017 Nissan Titan Single cab Interior

The interior of the Titan Single Cabs is adopted from the Titan Crew Cabs.  However, the Single Cab models miss out on leather upholstery, driving aids and upgraded electronics in the Crew Cabs.  The trucks will accommodate 3 passengers. Each person will have his or her own 3-point seatbelt on the 40/20/40 split bench.

The interior is offered in darker smoke grey or light tan colors. The darker grey will be more appealing to buyers due to the nature of work these trucks are involved in. The S trim features vinyl flooring while the SV features color-keyed carpet.

Other features include keyless entry and ignition and a larger display screen flanked by two analog gauges. Power locks and windows are offered as standard.

Engine Specs and performance

The Titan Single Cab will be powered by two drive-trains. The first engine will be a 5.6 L, V-8 gasoline engine which produces 390 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox.

According to Nissan, a 3.0 L, V6 engine will be offered later. This is the same engine will power the Titan Crew Cab; however, Nissan has not released specs of this engine. The Titan XD Single Cab on the other hand is powered by the same V8 engine as the standard Titan Single Cab. The XD adds a Cummins 5.0 L, V-8 turbo-diesel mill which pumps out 310 hp and a whopping 555 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission system.

Price and release date

As said earlier, the Titan will be released to dealerships in the fall. The automaker has not announced official prices for the 2017 Nissan Titan Single Cab. However, the models will slot below the already released Titan XD Single Cabs. I think a starting price of around $28,000 is a good guess.

Nissan is targeting the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150 and Ram pickup trucks with the new Titan Single Cab and Titan XD Single cab trucks.
