After releasing various teaser shots, Bugatti has unveiled its contribution to the Gran Turismo 6 Vision GT project. For starters, the Bugatti Vision GT is the virtual representation of how a real next-gen of racing Bugatti could look in the real world.
The project allows designers and engineers from the real-auto market to develop automobiles for the virtual world without the limitation of budgets, regulations or even reality itself. Unlike competing designers who go to great extremes, Bugatti has preferred to keep things in the realm of what is possible at the moment.
Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Exterior
The Bugatti Vision GT is instantly recognizable. The super car features two overlapping elements. The first element is the lighter blue front section while the second element is the darker blue rear that overlaps the front. This scheme can be traced all way back to 1937 Le Mans-winning Type 57 G Tank.
Unique Bugatti curve arcs over the side windows forming a massive air intake. The darker component composes the greenhouse which swoops into the vented hood; however, it doesn’t look anything like a traditional hood. On the other hand, the lighter blue component extends on the sides to form the doors and then disappears into the air intakes on the vehicle’s sides. The front fascia features two menacing headlights each hosting 4 rectangular lights that complement the car’s hallmark horseshoe grille. The grille doubles up as a F1-style mount for its huge carbon-fiber front splitter. It also has two end plates that drive air into two dive planes located at the front corners.
At the rear, the Bugatti Vision GT features a large LM P1 style rear wing with a dorsal fin which dominates the rear. Most part of the rear appears to be open. It also comes with a huge rear diffuser and 4 central exhaust pipes above it. To complement the rear look are the Cylon-like LED light strips that form its taillights.
Bugatti Vision GT Interior
The Bugatti Vision GT’s interior is racier than the high-luxury interiors common in Bugatti cars. It features a blue carbon-fiber racing bucket. In front of the seat is a multi-function steering wheel and a high-resolution display.
The exterior curves are echoed inside with an exposed carbon-fiber spine that forms the center console and flows through the middle of the cabin and arcs into the ceiling. More information will be disclosed at a later date.
Engine, Specs and Performance
During its debut, the manufacturer didn’t disclose any information about its power plant. However, our sources within Bugatti have leaked to us information on what might power the car. It will be a hybrid engine with as much as 3 electric motors to supplement its huge combustion engine. Number 16 on the grille suggests that the main engine to be powerful 8-liter W16 quad-turbocharged petrol engine, originating from the Veyron. The vehicle might come in all wheel drive; however, the front wheels will be powered by electric motors which will eliminate the need to send internal combustion power to the front.
The power-plant will produce around 1,500 hp and 1,100 lb-ft of torque. This engine will fly it from 0-60 mph in only 2 seconds and that is bullet fast. It will have a top speed of around 290 mph.
Price and Release date
The price of the car with Bugatti badge is always touching the sky, but even those who can not afford one Bugatti, will have to wait a year or two, then it is expected the new Bugatti Chiron, which is supposed to replace the Veyron and has many technical details taken from Bugatti Vision GT. Vision Gran Turismo will not be sold, at least in the near future.
The automaker will showcase the car during the 2015 Frankfurt International Motor Show to be held between 17th and 27th September. Its main rivals will be the 2015 Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision GT and 2015 SRT Tomahawk Vision GT.
