The latest edition of Audi A4 has undergone some updating.
Audi A4 2016 Exterior
The exterior styling of the 2016 Audi A4 B9 is based on the one of the ATS. It is smooth, sleek and dissolute. It has quite subtle trimmer headlights and a plain-looking grille. Larger fog lamps build more muscle at ground level.
The biggest change in comparison to its predecessor is that the Premium trims with the S line competition + package will feature 19” 5 V-Spoke wheels. Also, the A4 is from now on available in Misano Red pearl effect paint. Traditionally will be built in Sedan, Avant and allroad version as well.
2016 Audi A4 Interior
The cabin of the 2016 Audi A4 is made of aluminum or some “warmer” wood.
As for the seats, they are still high-quality seats wrapped in leather, still as comfortable. Sport seats are optional for the passengers. The rear seat is placed low to the ground and provides plenty of knee room and shoulder room. The trunk is disappointingly small.
The controls are more user-friendly since the last year’s rearrangement. Audi still hasn’t made a rearview camera standard, but blind-spot monitors and adaptive cruise control are available. Some exotic features distinguish between the Standard and the Premium trim.
Standard comes with the usual features such as satellite radio, Bluetooth, the Multi Media Interface (in charge of navigation systems, Google Earth and Google Street View mapping).
The Premium trim includes a standard three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, available Advanced Key and Audi connect as part of the Navigation plus package. A Bang & Olufsen Sound System has also been added to the Technology package on Premium Plus models.
Engine and Specs
Under the hood, the new Audi A4 2016 has a turbocharged 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder delivering 220 horsepower. It’s paired up with one of two transmissions: front-drive cars get a CVT with the best gas mileage, whereas all-wheel drive cars come with a choice of a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 8-speed automatic has a sport shift mode, however it lacks paddle-shift controls.
When it comes to acceleration, it is strong on all-wheel-drive models, with the fuel economy on the highway being reasonable.
Audi also has plans to introduce 3.0-liter TFSI and TDI engines, like the ones shown in Vienna last year (but these will likely be available for the US market only).
Price and release date
The release date of Audi A4 2016 still remains unknown, but rumor has it the vehicle will be unveiled in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The pricing will be somewhere in the neighborhood of the previous model – $36,000 for the Standard model, making it one of the cheaper models in its class.
