Cadillac is one of the most luxurious SUVs in the automotive market today. The manufacturer has already released three generations of this vehicle with the 2015 Cadillac Escalade being the latest version.
Before even the craze its over for the 2015 model, GM is planning to release the 2016 Cadillac Escalade with improved features and performance compared to the current model.
The exterior of the new Escalade 2016 will be slightly different from the current model. The signature Escalade look will remain but will be improved to give it a modern look. The car will be built on similar platform as the Chevrolet Tahoe.
The new grille will be redesigned to look more powerful and intimidating and as usual it will be barred horizontally along with a huge Cadillac emblem on the center. The front bumper has also been altered slightly. The rear features redesigned LED tail lamps.
On the existing body colors Crystal Red Tintcoat and White Diamond Tricoat, Cadillac has added another four possible choices: Red Passion Tintcoat, Crystal White Tricoat, Gray Silk Metallic, and Dark Emerald Metallic.
2016 Cadillac Escalade Interior
Cadillac is known for its sophistication and elegance, in line with this, the new redesigned Escalade will offer stylish features for premium comfort, luxury, safety and handling. To start with, there will be a text to voice feature, an updated navigation system, advanced ventilation system, heated and upholstered front mid-row and rear seats which will be covered with the finest leather.
For control, the vehicle comes with an advanced diagnostic system, a driver awareness package, collision alert, redesigned navigation interfaces,, surround vision and lane departure warning among others. For entertainment purposes, the Escalade comes with Bose stereo speakers and a rear entertainment system. Its three row seats will comfortably accommodate seven passengers.
Like the previous models next generation of 2016 Cadillac Escalade will have four trim levels: Standard, Luxury, Premium and Platinum, that future owners will be able to add the details optional.
Engine, Specs and Performance
The new 2016 Cadillac Escalade will come super charger engine option. Specifically, the new machine comes with a 6,2 liter, EcoTec FlexFuel V8 engine. This engine will have the capability to produce 420 hp with 460 lb-ft of torque. Now that’s real power right there. To sweeten the new Escalade deal, the engine will be accompanied with a three year warranty or 36,000 miles.Further, the new Escalade will be able to move from 0-60 mph in only 5,6 seconds and a 145 mph total speed.
There will also be a second engine option which will feature a 3.6L twin turbocharged V6 gasoline engine. This engine will produce 420 horses and will run Vsport version of the new Escalade. Both engines will have choice between two transmission systems i.e. six speed and eight speed.
The basic model will feature a rear wheel drive mode while customers will have an option for an all wheel drive mode.
Price and Release date
The manufacturer is yet to release official information concerning the new the SUVs release date and price. However, Rumor has it that we might see its release during one of the motor shows in the U.S. in the last quarter of 2015, if not, we can expect its release in early 2016.
The basic model 2WD is expected to cost (MSRP) around $ 72,000 while the all wheel drive option will cost slightly more $75,500, while Vsport version cost $75,290. The most expensive 4WD Escalade with Platinum trim level you can buy at the starting price (MSRP) of about $ 92,000. With its output power and premium features, the price will be really worth it.
