2016 Dodge Ram 1500 is a full-size pick-up, which has received some small updates on the exterior and powertrain. It’s been recorded that the selling rate of these vehicles has increased significantly. New Dodge Ram 2016 will be available in several models and trim levels: Tradesman, Express, Bighorn, Outdoorsman, Sport, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn and Laramie Limited.
Allegedly, in 2018 there will also be a “commercial” version of the Ram 1500, with improvements for heavy-duty work cases.
The 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 exterior has undergone several changes, most of which on the front part. The vehicle gets new front fascia, accompanied by the new chrome front grille, redesigned headlamps, LED lights and new huge bumper. However, the rear end has also undergone some modifications – new tailgate, which, apart from vertically, opens horizontally too. The manufacturer states that the Ram engine badging on the rear part will be enlarged, in order to be more visible on the road.
The Ram 1500 is designed for work and is able to overcome any kind of landscape having a great off-road ability.
As for the interior of the 2016 Dodge Ram 1500, it looks like things will mostly remain where they are, with the exception of the climate control system and stereo system. However, there will certainly be inevitable cosmetic redesigns.
The vehicle gets new seats with the ability to fold completely flat to the floor. There will also be some additional storage and an updated version of UConnect Access infotainment system.
Engine and Specs
When it comes to the powertrain of the 2016 Dodge Ram 1500, things are quite complex. The 2016 Ram 1500 will be the first year of a brand new model, which means there will be improved engines.
The base option will be powered by 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine which delivers 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired up with an 8-speed automatic transmission which sends power to all 4 tires equally. The eight speed will hardly jump to ten any time soon.
The vehicle will also be available in diesel variant, using 3.0 liter EcoDiesel V6 engine which puts out 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. There will also be a V8 version, powered by 5.7 Hemi V8 engine, which delivers 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
Fuel intake according to the EPA ranking is 18 mpg town and 25 mpg street. The new motor will have a considerably decreased intake due to enhanced efficiency.
The towing capacity for all engines is around 7000 pounds which is a good price-quality ratio.
Price and release date
As for the release date and official pricing of 2016 RAM 1500, neither of the two has been announced yet.
