In order to increase room in hood and cooling, the 2016 Sierra 2500 will get an emerging hood-styling and slightly heavier breeze intakes.

The 2016 GMC Sierra interior will also undergo some changes. The cabin will come with even more accentuated chrome details than before. The engineers have been using much higher quality materials and textures in the four available trim packages.

Engine specs and performance
As for the powertrain of the new GMC Sierra 2500 2016, it is expected to use a powerful Duramax turbocharged diesel engine. The Duramax diesel engine has a strong reputation and a proven track record with nearly 1.4 million sold since 2000. This particular engine is said to produce 450 horsepower and 855 pound-feet of torque. It would be coupled to the 6-speed 6L80 automatic transmission. The Duramax is one of the best and key features which would increase the sale of this vehicle in the market.
Another powertrain option, according to some rumors, is an excellent and up-to-date 6.6-liter LML turbocharged diesel V8 with an output of 397 horsepower and 765 pound-feet of torque, which is under the hood of the current edition. Paired with the sophisticated Allison 1000 series transmission with overdrive, this powertrain also offers a maximum highway range of up to 680 miles on a single fill-up.
