Honda Accord is one of the best Sedan in the market today and has been so for a long time. Although this niche market is very competitive with some manufacturers solely concentrating on production of Sedans, Accord has managed to maintain good sales.
To keep its grip on the market, Honda is set to release a new age Accord which will go by the name “the 2016 Honda Accord”. The auto maker will use fine materials to ensure the new Honda has better aerodynamics and improved fuel economy; it will also come with improved technological features. The new model will be offered as a sedan as well as a coupe.
Honda Accord 2016 Exterior
The exterior design of the new model looks modern and stylish as we would expect from the Accord. The automaker has made the front more aggressive. An upgraded hood, bumper and grille add to the improved aggressive look.
The sport trim and higher trims will feature LED fog lights. At the back, you will find a brand new spoiler on the Touring trim. All designs will feature new LED taillights. The base trim will feature 16-inch alloy wheels while higher trims will feature 19 –inch alloy wheels for the first time.
2016 Honda Accord Interior
Honda Accord is known to cleverly utilize the interior space. It comes with a nice and upright driving position, easy entry and exit and good legroom in the back. The new 2016 Honda Accord comes in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring trims for the sedan while the coupe will be offered in LX-S, EX, EX-L, and Touring trims. The rear back seat of all sedans will have a 60/40 split folding ability.
The base trim will also come with a dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, an 8-inch i-MID display with Pandora audio streaming as well as SMS text-message capability. The EX-L system features a 360-watt system that comes with Aha internet radio streaming.
Engine Specs and Performance
Under the hood of the new 2016 Honda Accord you will find two different engines depending on the trim level. The base engine of both the sedan and coupe will feature a 2.4 L inline 4-cylinder engine. When it comes to fuel economy, the 4-cylinder sedan mated with a manual transmission will deliver 23/24 mpg city/highway while the CVT-equipped coupe and sport sedan will deliver 27/37 mpg for city and highway respectively. The Accord sedan sport trim will accelerate from 0-60 mph in only 7.5 seconds.
Price and release date
The base trim of the sedan (LX) will have a start price of $22,105 while the highest trim (Touring) will cost around $34,580. On the other hand, the base trim of the coupe (LX-S) will cost $24,775 while the highest trim will take you back $ 34,125. The Sedan has already been released during the first week of August while the Coupe will be released towards the end of the month.
