The new redesigned 2016 Hyundai Veloster came out on market with two nasty brother, Veloster Turbo and the limited series of Veloster Turbo Rally Edition.
Hyundai Veloster 2016 Exterior
All 2016 Veloster versions received a new hood design with no faux hood vents. Another thing common to all models is a dark grey front grille surrounding. The Veloster Turbo gets lightweight RAYS 18” wheels adorned with a machined finish and argent spoke bevels. It also receives a suspension with somewhat sportier springs and dampers than its predecessor.
2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Rally Edition is limited to 1,200 units and is based on the Turbo R-Spec. each of the Rally models are painted in Matte Blue paint with carbon-fiber-look aero accents.
The standard Veloster also receives a slight visual redesign, including a revised front grille and 17” alloy wheels. 18” wheels wrapped in 10 mm wider tires are available as an option. The Veloster retained its unique exterior appearance, thus making a solid choice for hatchback customers who want to stand out.
As for the exterior paint colors, the basic model is available in Ultra Black and Vitamin C accompanied by orange-accented seat bolsters.

Interior-wise, 2016 Hyundai Veloster includes black bolster seats with yellow inserts with some of the exterior colors.
The entire infotainment system has been revised – a 7” color touchscreen with navigation system, SiriusXM, Travel Link, HD Radio, Apple Siri Eyes Free, remote start, Google destination search, remote door lock/unlock, stolen vehicle recovery, as well as next-generation Blue Link system with enhanced safety.
The Veloster Turbo is equipped with a new exclusive electroluminescent gauge cluster with huge center-mounted TFT vehicle information screen.
The Turbo R-Spec models are adorned with red seat belts to match the red bolster and the black and red seat inserts.
Apart from the already-mentioned optional black seats with yellow accents and the upgrade regarding the infotainment, the interior remained unchanged.
Engine and Specs
Powertrains for new Hyundai Veloster 2016 remain unchanged. The Base trim uses a naturally aspirated, direct-injected 1.6-liter I-4 putting out 138 hp and 123 lb-ft of torque if paired up with a 6-speed manual, and 132 hp and 120 lb-ft if equipped with a 6-speed EcoShift dual clutch. When it comes to fuel economy, the base Veloster is EPA-rated 27/35 mpg city/highway with the manual and 28/36 mpg with the EcoShift.
Veloster Turbo models including R-Spec and Rally Edition use a turbocharged, direct-injected 1.6-liter I-4 delivering 201 hp and 195 lb-ft. Available transmissions for the Turbo models are a 6-speed manual and a brand new 7-speed dual clutch (the biggest change regarding the powertrain), which is not available on the Rally Edition. A B&M short-throw shifter now comes as standard on Turbo R-Spec and Rally Edition models.
The Veloster Turbo is rated 25/33 mpg with the manual and 27/33 mpg with the new DCT transmission.
Price and release date
The 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo has been unveiled in South Korea, on its domestic market. It’s supposedly already available for sale, with the starting price of about $19,000 for the Base model and $25,000 for the Turbo models.
