In what seems to be a move to remain one the best sporty and luxury car manufacturer in the world, McLaren is set to unveil the 2016 675LT pretty soon. The 2016 McLaren 675LT comes with a wide range of unimaginable and classy features that include less weight, enhanced aerodynamics, and more power. So what really makes this car awesome?
Although McLaren chose to remain silent about the details of the car’s cabin, it did go on to release some images that will whet people’s appetites. The images were released a few days ago, during the 2016 McLaren 675LT official debut Switzerland, Geneva Motor Show .
Center and front is a pair of 2 tone elegant racing seats that seem to be covered with Alcantara, although they also seem to have leather bolsters. Alcantara has also been used to cover the rest of the cabin, including the dashboard, door panels, and door sills. It does not come with a standard air conditioning, although one can have McLaren adding it at a zero cost.
Up front, the car features swoopy air intakes, which appear to flow directly from the carbon fiber lower splitter and the headlights. In addition, it has vertical end-plates on the front bumper’s outermost edges that help in stabilizing the car at higher speeds.
McLaren has also done more work on the sides of the 2016 McLaren 675LT: It has installed some extended sills to enhance stability. It also has larger and lighter Longtail airbrake as opposed to the one the Super Series and the 650S models. To round out the visual specs McLaren has chosen four exclusive colors: Delta Red, Chicane Grey, Napier Green and Silica White.
To enhance both speed and low weight, McLaren has incorporated a 3.8 liter V-8 engine derived from the 650S. It is however more improved in terms of turbochargers, exhaust manifolds, cylinder heads, connecting rods, fuel pump and camshafts. These upgrades push the 3.8 liter engine to 675 PS (666 Hp) and 700 nm of torque, amounting to a 22 Nm and 25 PS increase over the 650S.
With a top speed of 330km/h, 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 2.9 sec, a 0 to 200 km/h(0-120 mph) time of 7.9 s, this is definitely one of the fastest cars ever made in the world.
Price and release date
With all these unique features coming with this lightning car, a person willing to buy it straight from the manufacturer, will need to folk out $608,000. This is definitely a huge amount of money that most people will not be able to afford. McLaren expects to release the car by the end of February 2015, which is just a few days away.
