The entirely reworked 2016 Volkswagen Touran was shown before an audience at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, in the immediate vicinity of the VW production site.

The completely new interior of the 2016 VolksWagen Touran has been maximized.
Safety, along with practicality, was one of the primary goals of VW. They have introduced a new folding seat arrangement with ISOFIX anchor points on all seats. The vehicle is available both with 5 and 7 seats, with the 5-seat version having the biggest luggage space (1,040 liters), making it convenient for everyday use.
Considerable enhancements have been made concerning the infotainment system. Some of them are: Apple and Android smartphone integration and voice control allowed through the car’s interfaces on the move.
The vehicle comes with the optional Pure Air 3-zone air conditioner with anti-allergen filter.
Some other new features are: the automatic Easy Open tailgate function, high-performance LED headlamps, MDI technology, RCD 310 with 8 speakers, parking assistance and front as well as rear parking sensors.
Engine, Specs and Performance
There will be three versions of the 2016 VW Touran available for purchase, and they will have different specifications.
The standard model (referred to as the “S” version) is equipped with 1.2 liter TSI 105 PS. It uses a petrol-type engine that produces 104-129 hp at 175 pound-feet of torque at 1550 RPM. The transmission has a 6-speed manual. It is expected that the vehicle will be able to develop acceleration 0-62 mph in 11.9 sec and the maximum speed of 115 mph (185 km/h).
The 2nd version (referred to as the „SE“ version) of the vehicle has a diesel-type engine – Blue Motion Technology 1.6 TDI 105PS. The transmission may have a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed auto DSG. Either of the two is expected to accelerate 0-62 mph in 12.8 sec, achieving the top speed at 116 mph (186 km/h). The torque produced here is 185 pound-feet.
The 3rd version is a 1.4 TSI 140 PS petrol-type engine. Buyers will choose between two transmission types: a 6-speed manual gear or a 6-speed auto DSG. Both transmissions are estimated to produce 161 pound-feet of torque. This variant is expected to develop acceleration 0-60 mph in 9.5 sec, and the top speed 125 mph (201 km/h).
Price and release date
Volkswagen has released its Touran at the Geneva Motor Show earlier in March, 2015. The 2016 Volkswagen Touran will be available on market by summer this year. The estimated price starts at $20,000 and hits the ceiling at $30,000.
