In years gone by, premium auto makers shunned SUVs. However, after Porsche tested the waters in 2003, other brands saw the opportunity and are fast catching up. Lamborghini unveiled the Urus concept in 2012 and after a long wait, we will soon see a Lamborghini SUV in the streets.
The name comes from an ancestor of the modern cow that went extinct in 1627. These animals were very big and tall and weighed over 1,500 pounds. Similarly their new brother “ 2017 Lamborghini Urus ” is going to be the largest automobile with the raging bull emblem.

I understand this is not the first Lamborghini SUV as the automaker had initially produced a SUV going by the name LM002 which was discontinued in 1993 after only producing a partly 328 models. We hope the automaker has learned his lessons and that the new SUV will make the cut in this tough segment.
2017 Lamborghini Urus Exterior
Lamborghini has taken a different path in exterior styling of this model. Rather than the usual sharp edges in its other brands, Lamborghini has gone with rounded edges. At the front, the fascia spots large air intakes. Its headlights which are Y-shaped look like those on the Aventador and Huracan.
Viewed from the side, its roof slides down towards the rear progressively and at the end you will find a roofing spoiler. At the rear, you will find stylish taillights and a sizeable bumper with an exhaust system with not 2 but 4 exhaust tips.
Its rear fenders are larger than the front ones. On the road the Urus will ride on 24-inch 5 spoke aluminum matte wheels.
2017 Lamborghini Urus Interior
As you would expect form a Lamborghini, the interior will be elegant, quite spacious, and comfortable. It will accommodate four adult passengers. The styling has been made using carbon fiber and polymer.
The steering wheel has the headlights switch on and of functionality and controls for wipers. Other vehicle functions are controlled via a touch-screen located at the center of the dashboard. This is as much as we have on exterior styling; we will inform you on new information once we receive it.
Lamborghini is Lamborghini mainly due to one reason; the engine. Its norm of high output power-trains continues in the Urus. The vehicle will be hooked up with a 4.0 L twin-boosted V-8 engine. The engine is expected to produce a whopping 600 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque or more. It is mentioned the V8 diesel engine that could be installed in the future.
The vehicle features a dual-clutch automatic transmission system that will convey power to all wheels through a permanent AWD system. The AWD system will be enhanced with a traction control program to ensure the car maintains a good grip for a nice drive.
The expected top speed is about 205 mph (328 km / h), while the expected acceleration of 0-60 mph under 4 sec. This data is based on rumors, since the vehicle is still under development.
