When the Skoda Kodiaq SUV made a debut, it caused quite a stir in the market. Its excellent blend of comfort, space and value immediately put the Czech automaker on an international fame. The 2018 Skoda Kodiaq Sportline was excellently designed to provide value that exceeded some models above its price tag. The automaker is at it again. This time round, Skoda has added a Sportline trim that seeks to add a dose of sportiness to the SUV. Read along for more information:

In general, it can be said that the automaker has given the Kodiaq SUV a sports car profile. The model gets black accenting on the grille, wing-mirrors, roof-rails, side windows and on the bumper. Below the bumper, the model gets a silver accenting. The front fascia also gets a special badge that sets the Kodiaq Sportline apart from standard Kodiaq models. It also gets a body-colored cladding below its doors. To complete the upgrade, the model rides on a set of 19-inch alloy wheels as standard. For an enhanced look, buyers can opt for 20-inch wheels.

2018 Skoda Kodiaq Sportline Interior
The interior of the Sportline is based on that of the SE trim of the Kodiaq SUV. The model features Alcantara Spots seats. Its steering wheel and shifter are wrapped in leather. It also features aluminum pedals that enhance is sporty look. This sporty look is further enhanced by visual readouts such as the G-force meter on the driver’s main display.
The model also features a 9.2-inch infotainment system with LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi hotspot and a navigation system. The model also features as standard selectable driving modes, a rear-view mirror, rain sensors, puddle lamps, LED ambient lighting as well as Alcantara inserts.
For safety, the model features blind spot warning, ABS, parking assist and trailer assist among others.
Engine Specs and performance
The 2018 Skoda Kodiaq Sportline will feature 3 engines i.e. two gasoline engines and a diesel mill offered in two flavors. The first gasoline engine is a 1.4 L, unit that produces 150 hp.
The second gasoline engine is a 2.0 L, unit good for 180 horses. On the other hand, the diesel engine is a 2.0 L, unit offered in two flavors. The first produces 150 hp just like the base gasoline engine. The more powerful iteration of the engine produces 190 hp. In all engines, power will be channeled to all wheels as standard. However, the automaker’s DCC (dynamic chassis control) is offered as an option.
Price and release date
The automaker is yet to announce official prices of the 2018 Skoda Kodiaq Sportline. However, according to credible reports, the model’s price will increase by around £2,000 ($2,500). Therefore, the base model will likely have a starting price of around £27,500 ($34,100) while the range-topping model will attract a price tag of around £35,500 ($44,100). The automaker will launch the Kodiaq Sportline at the 2017 Geneva Auto show, which will be held in March.
