If you are a fan of the movies you will vividly remember Vin Diesel jumping through two buildings in the “Fast and Furious 7” using a futuristic looking car. I bet many screamed “wow” but had no clue which supercar it was.
However, for auto enthusiasts like me, I knew it was a $3.4 million Lykan Hypersport from the self proclaimed first Arab super car company W Motors. Now, the company is at it again , just two days ago the Dubai based company debuted yet another super car dubbed the “ Fenyr Supersport ” at the ongoing Dubai Motor Show.
Just as the name “Hyper” precedes “Super” in the automobile dictionary; the Fenyr is not as exclusive as the Lykan Hypersport and will actually be the company’s entry-level model.
Fenyr Supersport Exterior and Interior
Just as with the Lykan, W Motors collaborated with Italy’s Magna Steyr, Studio Torino and RUF Automobile to create the second Arabian supercar. The Fenyr Supersport weighs 1,300 kg and features a futuristic design just like the Lykan. Its overall exterior profile is however more aggressive with sharp angles all over its body and an array of airscoops .
The whole body is made from carbon fiber whereas a tubular aluminum has been used to structure its chassis. We have no details of the interior since the automaker remained mum over the supercar’s interior. Keep on checking this page as we will update you immediately we have the information.
Engine Specs and Performance
Under the hood is where things get more exciting but familiar. The Fenyr Supersport is powered by a 4.0 L, twin-turbo flat-6 rated engine tuned by the RUF Automobile.
The engine comes good with a massive 900 hp and 885 lb-ft of torque. All this huge power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch PDK fitted with paddle shifters as well as a limited slip differential. This system has been borrowed from Porsche.
The monstrous engine bolts the supercar form 0-60 mph in only 2.7 seconds on the way to a top speed of 248 mph. The automaker says it could even touch the 250 mph mark.
With that power, we can all expect Vin Diesel to jump through three buildings with the Fenyr considering the Lykan had a lower power output capped at 770 hp and hit 60 mph at a slower 2.8 seconds.
Price and release date
Given that the Fenyr Supersport is more powerful and has a better design, many might wonder why it is placed below the Lykan. Well, the Hypersport featured real, encrusted diamonds on its headlights as well as a holographic display. These features are absent from the Fenyr. Only 25 units will be produced yearly and though they are few, it is a huge leap from only 7 examples that are produced yearly for the Lykan Hypersport. The automaker has not disclosed any pricing details; however, a $ 1.6 million price tag is rumored.
In addition to the Fenyr, W Motors is also set to produce two SUVs that will be priced over $ 150,000 which are already in development on course for a 2017 debut. Rumor has it that one of the SUV’s will be aimed at outclassing the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus as the world’s fastest SUV.
